ON/BCN
It is proposed to link ON/BCN (www.osservatorionomade.net)
with Can Xalant as resident group for 2006-2007.
ON is a cross-disciplinary research project about territorial and urban problems by means of exploring and interacting with the places in question.
Created in 2000 from the Stalker
group, ON/BCN has run projects in different cities throughout the world.
In the summer of 2005, as part of the “Ciutats Ocasionals. Post-it city i altrres formats de temporalitat”, project, ON/BCN was invited to run a workshop in Barcelona. From the experience came this initiative to investigate an ON nucleus in Barcelona and in its own area.
The first ON/BCN research programmes were run in two parallel directions: one rapprochement project in Barcelona’s La Mina district and on-going productions related to the “Ciutats Ocasionals” (Occasional Cities) project which will culminate in an exhibition at the CCCB (Centre for Contemporary Culture in Barcelona) in October 2007. ON/BCN is also expected to start looking into running a project in Mataró and its surrounding area.
